A Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Biostatistics in the School of Population Health at Virginia Commonwealth University. As Interim Chair, I am honored to lead a dedicated group of faculty, staff, and students passionate about advancing biostatistics and improving human health. Our department is committed to excellence in research, education, and service.

At the heart of the department are esteemed faculty members with diverse expertise in various research areas. Faculty and students work together to develop new methodologies to address complex issues in the health sciences. We collaborate with health science and public health researchers to determine risk and protective factors that influence health, work to understand disease trajectories, and test innovative medicines and interventions that improve human health.

Students are at our department's core, and we are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment. Our department has a long history of training students who become leaders in academia, industry, and government. All students actively engage in research that enhances didactic learning in the classroom.
